Rumor: GTA 6 Leaked via MoCap Actor’s Resume

UPDATE: While it hasn’t been 100% confirmed yet, this does appear to be a fake.

Original Story: Grand Theft Auto 6 has been on nearly every gamer’s wish list for the last few years. Rockstar though has seemed content with sticking with GTA 5, or more accurately the multiplayer component, GTA Online. The wait might be coming to an end some time soon though, as an actor’s resume might have just leaked that Rockstar is currently performing motion capture work on GTA 6.

Tim Neff, who has done work on movies like Why Him and TV shows such as Master of None, listed GTA 6 under his video game section recently. Alongside Red Dead Redemption 2 these are the biggest projects he’s worked on in the medium. Perhaps Rockstar pulled him in for RDR2 and continued his contract for GTA 6.

Still, it’s important to take this with a pretty huge grain of salt. The actor might have messed up and listed the game while working on something else. Or this was some other sort of accident and the game isn’t being worked on at all. There’s a lot of scenarios where Rockstar isn’t currently working on GTA 6, though they are certainly looking at the sequel in some capacity.

The Grand Theft Auto series is too massive to just rest on GTA Online, even though the property is still earning millions of dollars via new sales and Shark Card purchases. Players will eventually move on though and Rockstar needs to be there with a new game. Perhaps they’re thinking Red Dead Redemption 2 will cause a shift in player behavior, which they can continue manipulating with the release of a totally new GTA game.

What would be surprising, if Rockstar is indeed working on GTA 6, is that GTA 5 never received any single player DLC. The previous game got a lot of extra story content via DLC, and many expected it once again for Grand Theft Auto 5.
