Halo Wars 2 will have an open beta from June 13th to June 20th according to some possibly leaked info on NeoGaf. The information was put together by Italian website Mondo Xbox, which noticed that Xbox Live’s Major Nelson was following an account called Halo Wars 2 Open Beta. Following that chain led to a store listing for the title with all of the info.
“Be among the first to experience the explosive return of real-time strategy to the Halo universe in the Halo Wars 2 Multiplayer Beta for Xbox One,” the English translation of the store listing reads.
Most likely this open beta was to be announced at E3 2016, during Microsoft’s press conference. It’s become a sort of tradition for these events to have a couple of big announcements that are available right then and there. Fans who are watching at home, if this leak turns out to be true, will then be able to download and play the RTS title immediately.
So far the Halo Wars 2 open beta has only been spotted on Xbox One, but the game will also be heading to PC. We’ll have to wait for the official confirmation before we know what platforms it will be available on.
Halo Wars 2 is scheduled to hit Xbox One and PC later this year.
