Ninja Theory has shared a new trailer of its upcoming action-horror adventure Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The video showcases once again how this adventure is as much about fighting creatures from hell as overcoming the inner demons of the heroine. It presents the protagonist about to face an imposing enemy, and falling prey of her own fear for a moment, while the voices in her mind are heard loud and clear for the players. Finally, Senua beats her fear and gets ready to face the creature.

Inspired by the Celtic mythology, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice presents a fantasy tale in which the protagonist embarks on a journey through an underworld dimension in which she will encounter demonic creatures who are in fact manifestations of her own psyche.

So while the demonic theme is similar to one of the studio’s previous games, DmC: Devil May Cry, Hellblade puts a lot more emphasis in the psychological aspect of the plot and the character creation.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is releasing for PS4 and PC on August 8th. Watch the Hela trailer below:
