Sony was dropping megatons all over their E3 press conference this year and the absolute shocker of the night had to go to the reveal that Shenmue 3 would be coming to PlayStation 4, with the stipulation that a Kickstarter had to be fully funded. The Kickstarter has not even been up two hours yet and the campaign is already almost halfway there.
Yu Suzuki is looking for $2 million to fund a Shenmue 3 that would come to PlayStation 4 and PC eventually. Using the hashtag #SaveShenmue, there was little doubt that this campaign would be funded quickly.
After seeing how fast games like Yooka-Laylee and Bloodstained for funded, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that a much wanted followup to Shenmue would be funded just about as fast.
Just sitting here and watching the counter on the Kickstarter page is pretty amazing to see and at this rate, it will be funded in no time. At this exact time of posting, the Kickstarter for Shenmue 3 is at just over $900,000. The only question is just how high it will eventually go and will it reach every stretch goal.
Make sure to stay tuned tomorrow and for the rest of the week to Attack of the Fanboy for the best coverage on not only this game, but plenty more. For all of the info you may have missed yesterday, make sure to check out our Day -1 Wrap Up Video as well.
