While the Wii U may not be the console that everyone talks about, it has nevertheless built up a solid collection of games since its launch in 2012. While there are several games that are definitely underrated, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto thinks one in particular got the short end of the stick.

Speaking with Game Informer, Miyamoto revealed that he thinks the most underrated Wii U game is this year’s Star Fox Zero. He said that “I think personally Star Fox is a really fun game if you sit down and play it. I think, for example, an elementary school kid who plays it without any preconceived notions, I think it would be really fun for them. I think it’s also really, really fun for siblings to play it together.”

While this is to be expected from the man who largely spearheaded the project, what is very interesting is when senior product marketing manager for Nintendo of America, Bill Trinen, pops in with his own suggestion. He said that “Personally, I think Pikmin 3 is the most amazing game on Wii U. It’s probably one of my favorite games in the last six or seven years. I think that hardly anyone realizes that the multiplayer bingo battle mode was literally the best new multiplayer mode that has been created since Smash Bros. It is so much fun.”

Miyamoto finishes things off by saying that he feels that Pikmin 3 is the kind of game that doesn’t gel with the current state of quick experiences in the gaming industry, saying that “it’s getting harder and harder for people to let a game to sink in and enjoy leisurely.”
