Todd Howard recently received an award at the LARA video game awards in Germany. Rightfully so, Howard is a Game Director and Producer at Bethesda Game Studios, who led the team that created Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls series. The Bethesda Game Studios developer spoke briefly about the studio’s next game in an interview following the ceremony.

Suprise, he did not reveal Fallout 4, and explained once again that it could be a while before we hear about Bethesda’s next RPG. Though he did reconfirm that the studio has been working on their next game for a while.

We’re still tinkering, says Howard

“We’re working on something, and have been for a while,” Howard told PC Games. “It’s going to be a little while before we talk about it, we want to surprise everybody, and make that moment where we talk about it special for everybody. We’re still tinkering.”

“We’re really excited about it. The stuff we’re able to do now on the PCs and the next-gen systems with all that memory… we’re very, very excited about all of the opportunities.”

Bethesda Game Studios hasn’t released a game since 2011’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Popular consensus coupled with a handful of rumors suggest that Fallout 4 is the game that Howard is speaking of when talking about their next project.

Whatever their next game, it’s becoming clear that Bethesda just isn’t ready or willing to speak about it just yet.
