Today (July 8), a new video revealed some more information about the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield games, due later this year. In addition to this video, some more information was posted on the official Pokémon website, which revealed some of the version exclusives for each game in this Generation.

Though there are sure to be more revealed over time, we now know of four Pokémon that will be exclusive to either Sword or Shield. Interestingly, all of these exclusive Pokémon so far are older ones from previous Generations. The Dark/Dragon-type Deino, from Generation V, and the Dragon-type Jangmo-o, from Generation VII, will be exclusive to Sword while the Rock/Ground-type Larvitar, from Generation II, and the Dragon-type Goomy, from Generation V, will be exclusive to Shield. Those who pre-order the Sword and Shield Double Pack (which includes both games), however, will receive two codes – one for a Dynamax Larvitar and one for a Dynamax Jangmo-o, both of which can be used in either game regardless of normal exclusivity. Each game will only be able to use one of the codes, though.

In addition to exclusive Pokémon, some Gym Leaders in the Galar region will be version exclusives as well. The tough and stoic Fighting-type Gym Leader Bea will be exclusive to Sword while the young and shy Ghost-type Gym Leader Allister will be exclusive to Shield.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will launch for the Nintendo Switch on November 15.
