Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand has now announced that the PS4 is still the best selling games console in the country.

According to data from The NPD Group Australia, the PS4 was the best selling console in New Zealand in 2014. The console is the country’s fastest selling console in over a decade too. It sold faster than the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U and Xbox One.

The PS4 also has a great market share in New Zealand when it comes to the current generation home consoles. It has over 65 percent market value share over its rivals the Xbox One and Wii U.

When it comes to third party video games, the PS4 was the platform of choice for New Zealand gamers. Games such as Watch Dogs, Far Cry, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Destiny sold the most copies on PS4 than on any other platform.

New Zealand is also becoming an internet connected nation. 95 percent of all PS4s in New Zealand are connected to a PSN account. Sure you can still play games offline, but being connected to PSN allows you to do way more things than without it.

Sony is obviously hoping it will stay on top for the remainder of 2015 as well.
