Sony isn’t ready to show off their next generation hardware just yet, says Andrew House. Until it can demonstrate a major advance over the PlayStation 3, Sony is content to keep it under wraps. In a recent interview with MCV, House explains the right time to reveal the new hardware.

“The right time to talk about new advances in hardware is when you can demonstrate a significant leap on the current exprience, and something that is going to be attractive. That remains our philosophy. Beyond that we have nothing to say at this point.”

Many believe that next year will be the year that Sony finally unveils new hardware. Furthermore, analysts believe that Sony is closely watching Microsoft for any indication that the company is readying an announcement for their next generation Xbox 360, and is ready to act with an announcement of their own. Saddled by a year head start in this current generation, its a common belief that Sony won’t make that same mistake again.
