The Spanish Football League (La Liga) is reportedly going to be exclusive to FIFA 17. This might pose to be a problem for Konami’s rival PES 2017 video game.

As reported by Game Reactor, EA and La Liga ambassador Fernando Morientes announced at Santiago Bernabéu that FIFA 17 will be the only official video game of the La Liga.

EA gets access to the rights to the players, teams and stadiums of the La Liga. This means everything will look authentic so you won’t see any fake looking logos or made-up player names. Previous FIFA video games didn’t feature many Spanish stadiums so expect the number to increase this year.

We’re not sure how this will affect Konami and its plans for PES 2017 yet. Konami may have to approach players and teams individually in order to strike a deal that won’t interfere with EA’s agreement.

FIFA 17 is set to be a new venture for EA Sports as it uses the Frostbite game engine. It also adds a new story mode called “The Journey” which is also a franchise first. Not to mention the game will be adding more Women’s teams that were introduced last year.
