Splatoon will be receiving one of the final pieces of free content tonight or tomorrow depending on where you live. Nintendo of Europe confirmed the Piranha Pit map is coming to the colorful Wii U shooter.
Nintendo of Europe posted a Twitter update announcing the release of the new map for the morning of December 29 on the old continent.
That breaks down to Splatoon receiving the Piranha Pit map Monday night, December 28 at around 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT in the United States. This is the typical release time as noted by Nintendo Life.
An accompanying trailer was released earlier this month showcasing the new Splatoon map complete with choreographed dance routines with the Inklings. There are a number of conveyor belts around the map set in a quarry over water. Falling into water is hazardous to the characters though despite them being part squid.
Ancho-V Games is another multiplayer stage that is on the way in a future release. It is based on a game development studio and has floors that raise when triggered by “splatting” fans.
This brings the total number of Splatoon stages to 15 in Splatoon with the final update presumably coming with Ancho-V Games. Co-director Yusuke Amano told Game Informer that January will see the last of the free content with no plans to release paid DLC afterwards.
