Square Enix E3 2018 Press Conference Live Stream & Highlights

What will Square Enix reveal at their E3 2018 Showcase.    The live stream begins on June 11th at 1:00 PM ET.  It’s expected that we’ll hear about some of the games that have already been revealed like Kingdom Hearts III, Tomb Raider, and Just Cause 4.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Daniel Chayer Bisson introduced the opening moments of Shadow of the Tomb Raider and outlined new gameplay features of the game in a jungle sequence where Lara uses stealth tactics in the trees and lush environments.

Lara uses a bow and arrow for stealth takedowns, jumping knife attacks, and silent takedowns that we’ve seen in previous games in the series.  Bisson says that the game will feature the largest hub, more tombs, and unique mechanics like wall-running and grappling.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is due out on September 14th, 2018.

Stormblood Final Fantasy XIV Online

Due in the Summer of 2018, there will be a mash-up between two popular franchises in Final Fantasy XIV Online and Monster Hunter World.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is coming in a first episode in June which will be free to download and try on June 26th.  It’s been revealed that while this is not Life is Strange 2, it is a fan’s first look into that universe.

Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Exclusive Age

A new trailer for the game as shown which added a September 4th, 2018 release date for the game on PlayStation 4 and PC.  While it’s expected that the game will launch on Nintendo Switch that date was not revealed.

Babylon’s Fall

Platinum Games’ next title will arrive in 2019 and it’s been revealed as Bablyon’s Fall for PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam).

Just Cause 4

After a leak last week and the reveal of Just Cause 4, Square Enix showed off a lot more about the game.  Avalanche says that this is the biggest game in the franchise.  It was also revealed that Rico would return to fight against Gabriela and the Black Hand Militia Group.

The game will feature weather mechanics like sand storms and blizzards.  Vehicles have beeen overhauled with new types. Wrecking Balls, Construction Equipment and other vehicles have been added to the game.

Grappling will feature more tethers than before.  The Black Hand Militia will have different archetypes and improved AI for better combat.

Open World Apex Engine said to offer the highest fidelity Just Cause experience to date.

The Quiet Man

Appears to be a brand new IP that will be explained in detail this August.

Kingdom Hearts III

A new gameplay trailer for Kingdom Hearts III shows off more Disney characters heading to the game.  It was announced days ago that the game would arrive in January 2019 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
