In the days leading up to their E3 presentation, Square Enix repeatedly teased the reveal of a new game called Outriders. Now, we finally know what their partnership with studio People Can Fly has amounted to.

Revealed at Square Enix’s E3 showcaseOutriders is a new IP by developer People Can Fly, who previously worked on games like Gears of War: Judgment and Bulletstorm. Given the developer’s past games, it should come as no surprise that this new game is a shooter, though People Can Fly studio head Sebastian Wojciechowski insists that it will be the studio’s “most ambitious shooter to date.” Outriders will allow for one, two, or three players, focusing on drop-in-drop-out co-op gameplay in a dark, science-fiction world that takes inspiration from both modern and traditional shooters. Players will also be able to create their own Outrider to play through the game with. People Can Fly promises that there is “a lot more depth to the game” than just being another shooter, but that they’re holding off on revealing too many details right now.

More about the game is set to be revealed this winter. Outriders will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC next summer. You can watch the game’s announcement trailer below.
