Star Fox Zero finally releases tomorrow for Wii U after a few different delays, which is why we have been seeing a lot of promotion for the game in recent weeks by Nintendo. The latest is one of the most interesting additions yet with an actual nearly 15 minute long animated short.

Titled Star Fox Zero – The Battle Begins, this animated short was produced in collaboration with Shigeru Miyamoto and both Production IG and WIT Studios and uploaded to the official Nintendo YouTube channel.

The short features an anime style that looks fantastic in action and really does fit well with the Star Fox Brand.

The writing feeling like it was ripped straight from a Star Fox game as well, with us getting to see the whole gang of Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy. Even though this is rather short, we do get to see a glimpse of the personalities of the different characters that newcomers to Star Fox may not know.

After watching Star Fox Zero – The Battle Begins, it really makes you want to see Star Fox actually get the anime treatment. We’ve seen F-Zero get one, not to mention many others, so why not Star Fox? Hopefully this was a test to see how well it is received, especially with talk of Nintendo licensing out its properties to branch out a little more.
