DICE has announced there will be a new game mode in Star Wars Battlefront that kind of replaces the space battles.
As you may know already, the awesome space battles from Battlefront 2 are not in the new Star Wars Battlefront game. However, DICE has revealed a new game mode that might act as a spiritual successor of sorts.
Star Wars Battlefront’s design director, Niklas Fegraeus, talked more about the game in an open “letter” on the official website.
He said there will be “new game modes” in Star Wars Battlefront. This is good news as some people thought the game was lacking in content. He didn’t reveal what the other games modes are yet, but he did announce something new called “Fighter Squadron” mode today.
It sounds like “Fighter Squadron” mode in Star Wars Battlefront is a replacement to the space battles from Battlefront 2. You may not be flying in space, but you will be flying around the expansive levels. He said you will “engage in huge Starfighter battles over canyons”. It was also mentioned the levels will be big enough for the battles to be epic.
There are also smaller scale missions in Star Wars Battlefront that you can do as well. He said all of the game’s missions are able to be played solo or cooperatively with a friend. Yes, you can battle against armies of AI controlled bots just like the good old days from the previous Battlefront games.
