Star Wars Battlefront’s Release Date Could Be A Week Before The Force Awakens

It looks like EA is planning to release Star Wars Battlefront close to the debut of Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

Gamestop Italy has posted a suggested release date for Star Wars Battlefront as December 10th, 2015. This is one week before Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens comes out in North American cinemas on December 18th, 2015.

There was a huge rumored leak that Star Wars Battlefront will have some levels from The Force Awakens. However, those levels will not be available until after the movie comes out. This is to obviously avoid any potential spoilers.

A December 10th, 2015 release date for Star Wars Battlefront sounds like a smart move if EA goes ahead with it. They need to release the game when the hype for The Force Awakens is at a fever high. The last thing EA would want to do is release the game months after the movie comes out.

A December release is also great because it will avoid big AAA video games from other publishers. Microsoft already bookmarked Halo 5: Guardians for October 27th, 2015. November is likely to be stacked with maybe Rise of the Tomb Raider, a new Call of Duty game and a new Assassin’s Creed title.

We will know about about Star Wars Battlefront when the first gameplay trailer hits later this month. Hopefully EA decides to announce the official release date for the game as well.
