The Master League has recently been launched by Blizzard with the latest update to Starcraft II. Â Here in the Master League it will give the best players in each region a new arena to face off. Â Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond are still available. Â But the Master League is for the elite of elite Starcraft II player that has already “mastered” everything below him. Â Only the top 2% of players will be promoted into this exclusive league.
The developers stated that obviously the competition in the Master League will be very fierce. At the onset of patch 1.2, which was issued just a few days ago, Â the top 2% have already been placed into the Master League by an automated placement system. Â If you didn’t make it in you’re going to need to claw you way into the league by getting into the top 2% of your region.
Also noted, there are plans for an even more elite league after the Master, and it’s the Grand Master League. Â The Grand Master League will be the top 200 players from each region. Yikes.
Unfortunately, Blizzard did not include the iron fish league for players like myself who get dominated in Bronze. Â But this is pretty exciting news for the Starcraft II community and should heat up the competition going forward in the upper echelons.
