In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, Stranger Things is the Netflix-exclusive surprise hit from last year that harkens back to stories of groups of kids going on adventures in the 80s, such as E.T. the Extra-TerrestrialThe Goonies and Stand by Me. The show was nominated for a number of Emmys this year and is releasing its second season later this month. In anticipation of the new season, an 8-bit mobile game has been developed by BonusXP and is available now.

In the game, the player takes control of a number of characters from the show, each of whom has their own abilities. The game’s website explains that “Lucas can nail anything with his Wrist Rocket” and “Nancy has an entire collection of bats to swing.” Gameplay includes exploring Hawkins, avoiding enemies, solving puzzles and collecting collectibles. Apparently, collecting enough Gnomes and Eggo Waffles will allow the player to unlock something (or some things). Also, players’ Speed Run times will be recorded and shareable on social media, so you can compete with your friends.

The game is available now for iOS and Android devices and is completely free. The new season of Stranger Things comes to Netflix on October 27.
