If you’re a Wii U owner and have been hoping for a release of Super Meat Boy on the platform for a while, then your wait won’t go on for that much longer. Team Meat has just posted on Twitter giving an update on the Wii U version and when we can expect it to launch.
Team Meat’s Tommy Refenes said that, “Super Meat Boy is coming to Wii U very very very soon. @BlitWorks is wrapping it up and you should be playing it in a couple months! Hooray!”
Even though Super Meat Boy Wii U will mark one of the last platforms that the game will come to, the game was originally intended to come to WiiWare in 2010 before those plans were nixed. The game is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, PC, Mac and Linux.
We had heard from the developer that a Wii U version of Super Meat Boy was in the works last October, though updates since then had been scarce. The recent PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions did not include the original soundtrack due to problems with licensing, though it’s unknown if it will be the same case for Wii U.
