Mafia fans might have been a bit disappointed when nothing was mentioned about the long rumored Mafia 3 during E3 2015 this year. However, it seems that the property’s parent company, Take Two Interactive has a plan afterall.

Today, several websites have been registered by Take Two Interactive that point to a Mafia 3. A quick ‘WhoIs’ search brought up several rewordings of Mafia 3 domains that have been registered. One for MafiaThreeTheGame, another for Mafia3TheGame, a third for MafiaThree.com and finally MafiaiiiTheGame. All of which are registered by Take Two Interactive and are on the Take Two Games server. This might serve as a warning that an impending announcement might be coming from GamesCom in August.

The last Mafia game was Mafia 2 and was pretty well received by critics. I personally enjoyed the open world experience and the time period of the game as well as the ability to dress your character up in a fixed amount of clothing options. Empire City was more or less the Mafia version of New York in the 1930’s, given that Mafia 2 for the most part was a prequel to the events that took place in the original Mafia it will be interesting to see where they go with Mafia 3.
