PlayStation 4 and Steam users have the chance to experience what Tales of Berseria has to offer, thanks to a demo that is available now for both platforms worldwide. ‘Berseria’ is the lastest chapter in the long-running RPG series by Bandai Namco and the second one developed for the current generation of consoles, after 2015’s Tales of Zestiria.

In this title we control Velvet, a young girl transformed into a Daemon who just escaped from a prison and seeks revenge against the Abbey and the Exorcists. The events of Berseria happen in the distant past of Tales of Zestiria, although we will find certain references and links between the two games.

Gameplay-wise, Tales of Berseria offers local multiplayer for up to four players and a variation of the usual battle mechanics called “Liberation-LMBS”, in which players are able to move freely around the arena and control the camera at their will.

The demo offers two scenarios to explore: The first section is taken off the main story and ends with a boss battle. The second part is a stage in which we will have to hunt certain monsters marked with a sign. We will be given the choice to enjoy the demo with English voices or the original Japanese dubbing.

Tales of Berseria will be out for PlayStation 4 and Steam on January 24th for American players, and January 27th in Europe. Pre-ordering the game on Steam will get us 10% off the price if we own either Tales of Zestiria or Tales of Symphonia, and a 15-min Skits video. While PS4 users who make their pre-order through the PlayStation Store will get the 15-minute video, a mini-soundtrack collection with three songs and a digital theme for the console.
