Target Handing out Free Charizard for Pokemon Sun and Moon in Early Oct.

Every since the early days of the Pokemon franchise, players have been able to go to select stores at various times to receive special characters for their game. In the last few years this has almost always been at Gamestop in the US, but it seems like another retailer will be getting in on the action. Target will be handing out a free Charizard to Pokemon Sun and Moon players in early October.

Starting October 1st and going until the 14th players can head to their local Target to get a code, which they can then enter into their copy of either Pokemon Sun or Pokemon Moon. Doing so will give the player their own Charizard at level 50. There’s a few things that make this Charizard special, and worth getting even if you already have one in your inventory.

“This Charizard is ready for battle with the stat-boosting Dragon Dance move and three devastating attacks.,” explained Nintendo. And here are his stats…

Level: 50
Held Item: Red Card
Ability: Blaze
Moves:
Dragon Dance
Flare Blitz
Fly
Earthquake

Once you have you code, you just follow the usual process to get your Charizard. Here’s the steps, in case you need them…

Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.
Select Receive Gift.
Select Get with Code/Password, then Yes, and then Yes again to connect to the Internet.
Enter your password.
Watch as you receive Charizard.
Speak to the delivery person in any Pokémon Center to pick up Charizard.
