This current generation of consoles has seen a trend of fighting games with fighter passes that bring new characters across multiple different years. Tekken 7 jumped onto this train with their DLC offerings, which included even Negan from The Walking Dead in the second season pass. We knew some new reveals had to be coming for Tekken 7 at EVO this weekend and they certainly delivered with the reveal of Season Pass 3.
Bandai Namco made the announcement for Tekken 7’s Season Pass 3 at EVO 2019, where we got a trailer showing off two characters specifically, as well as a tease for more to come. The first new fighter being added to Tekken 7 is Zafina, who actually made her initial debut in Tekken 6 before also showing up in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. She does look like she has changed her clothing style though since the past entries. Zafina does not have a set release date yet, but it was revealed she will be coming sometime in September.
Next up is a brand new character to the series named Leroy Smith. Said to be a seasoned master of martial arts, Leroy Smith lost his family and home to gang wars in New York. Now decades after going missing, he has returned for revenge and is set to launch sometime before the end of the year.
Looking forward, Season Pass 3 will also introduce two additional characters at sometime in 2020, along with a new feature and stage. No details were given about these, but Bandai Namco also revealed that a free update was coming along with Season Pass 3 that will introduce new moves into the game as well for fighters.
