Tekken 7 Will Not Feature Any Blood

To ensure Tekken 7 does not get a mature rating, Bandai Namco is choosing not to feature any blood in the game.

A fan was wondering if Tekken 7 will have any blood and also if characters will get scratches, dirt and water all over them when they fight. Tekken 7’s director, Katsuhiro Harada, answered the fan’s question on Twitter.

“Dirt, Water, Sweat. No blood because rating problem for arcade.”

It looks like Bandai Namco is taking a page out of Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. That game features dirt, water and a bit of sweat to its fighters. This level of detail should look great on Tekken 7 as it utilizes the power of Unreal Engine 4.

The fan also asked if there will be little tears and cuts to clothing in Tekken 7. Harada didn’t mention anything about it. It looks like clothing in the game will remain intact no matter how roughed up fighters get.

No blood in Tekken 7 is to be expected. The series has never been too violent like the Mortal Kombat franchise. It’s safe to say the console version will be the same as well. Don’t expect blood to ever feature in the game at all.

Tekken 7 will eventually be released for the PS4 and Xbox One. No release window has been announced yet.
