Leatherface, the human-skin-wearing antagonist of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, has been added to the asymmetric horror multiplayer game, Dead by Daylight.
Inspired by the Wisconsin serial killer Ed Gein, Leatherface is a terrifying horror icon that has haunted moviegoers since the late seventies.
Available as paid downloadable content, Leatherface is a £2.79/$3.99 add-on that adds a unique play style for gamers who’re still playing through the popular multiplayer title. His main method of attack is the series’ iconic chainsaw which he can rev up and crazily charge at his victims. During this attack, Leatherface is still able to freely move and change direction whilst also increasing his momentum.
Leatherface also has some key skills which will be essential to playing as the sadistic, murderous cannibal. Knockout allows him to disable the outline of a dying survivor making him harder to track down. Franklin’s Demise makes a survivor drop items they’re holding after being hit, and Barbecue and Chill shows you the location of in-range survivors when slamming a survivor onto a meat hook.
Dead by Daylight’s creative director Dave Richard is over the moon at the possibility of working with one of horror’s most prolific characters. “We all wanted to work with the character for quite some time and are really pleased to count him as part of our roster of killers,” said Richard to Bloody Disgusting. “The brutality of his actions, his unique personality, and outstanding character design makes him an excellent fit for the Dead by Daylight universe.”
Dead by Daylight’s Leatherface DLC is available now on PC, consoles will receive the update sometime in the future.
