While most developers are already focusing most of their efforts on Nintendo Switch, the company’s previous handheld console will still receive some interesting releases even in 2018, as is the case with Atlus’ turn-based RPG The Alliance Alive. The game has received a new video preview introducing the characters of Gene, Rachel, and Tiggy. They are part of the resistance to the Daemons, other-worldly creatures who invaded the realms and imposed their rule.

Gene is a powerful mage from the Signimancy Guild, especialized in using artifacts to throw magic attacks. Rachel is a mercenary who works for Gene’s Guild, and complements the mage’s coldness ana analytic way of thinking with ther own passionate temper. Finally, Tiggy is a young genious who uses her own strange inventions to fight in battles. She studies the phenomenon known as the Dark Current, which is a cross-shaped giant mark that spreads through land and oceans that has swallowed any cities in its path.

Here is the official synopsis of the game via Atlus: “One thousand years ago, Daemons invaded the world of Humans. They subjugated Humanity and created the Great Barrier to separate the realms. The world was thrown into upheaval, and the Dark Current was born. It carved a cross-shaped swath across the ocean, swallowing countless cities in its wake. Humanity was decimated. Hundreds of years later, Daemons rule atop a hierarchical society. However, the time for resistance has come. The world is about to change yet again…”

The Alliance Alive launches on March 27th in North America and Europe for Nintendo 3DS. Watch the new trailer below.
