The Stanley Parable was easily one of the most fun and unique indie games of the last few years. Developed by Galactic Cafe, the game presented an interesting world that moved and shifted with every choice the player made, creating endless replayability, and quite a bit of discussion about what it all meant. Now the creator of that venerable game is back, with The Beginner’s Guide.

Extremely little is known about The Beginner’s Guide at this time, with just the game’s almost blank webpage to go off of. It is described as “a narrative video game” indicating that it will follow in the story-heavy path of The Stanley Parable. The page also gives a release date of October 1st for PC and Mac. This is just a couple of days away, so while we know little right now, we should have the game available before too long.

With such little to go on it might be tough for fans to get excited, but The Beginner’s Guide seems to be banking on the reputation of The Stanley Parable. We gave that game a 4/5 score in our review saying ” It taunts you with choices, and even though you know they go nowhere you take them, you push buttons, and you listen to music as you wait. and wait. and wait, willing your resolve not to break until you find that one elusive choice that ends in a win, because that’s how games work isn’t it?”
