The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a fantastic game all around. The story is great, the characters are deep, and the world is vast and beautiful. Of course that world looks a bit different depending on how you play the game. PC users are limited only by their hardware, while PS4 and Xbox One are set to a certain standard of play. One issue so far has been that the Xbox One version allows for varying framerates, letting it go up and down depending on the graphical situation. However, a future update to The Witcher 3 will fix this by locking the framerate to 30 FPS. This should help deliver a smoother experience for Xbox One players in the future.

The news came via Twitter where a fan asked why developer CD Projekt Red hadn’t already locked the framerate of the game to 30 FPS on Xbox One. Community Lead & Website Coordinator for CD Projekt Red Marcin Momot responded that “The lock should be there in the upcoming patch.” This isn’t the first time The Witcher 3 has had to deal with framerate issues on the consoles. The PS4 version had some problems with lower and faltering framerates pre-launch, with a day one update hitting to address the issue. The Xbox One version still won’t be at the same level graphically as the PS4 or PC editions, but this should help significantly.
