For several years now, Nintendo has been adding games to their Nintendo Selects program, which makes popular games for their current generation consoles permanently cheaper. Soon, three more popular games will be joining the program.
Nintendo of America recently announced that the 3DS games The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, and Super Mario Maker for 3DS will all be becoming Nintendo Selects games soon, meaning new copies of the games will be available for purchase for about $20, as opposed to the $40 that new 3DS games usually go for. Interestingly, all three of the games joining the lineup in this group aren’t native to the 3DS, but instead Majora’s Mask and Star Fox 64 are remakes of Nintendo 64 games and Super Mario Maker is a port of an originally Wii U game.
Several other 3DS games are currently part of the Nintendo Selects lineup, and most of them are not ports or remakes. More 3DS Nintendo Selects games include Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, among others.
