Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Changes Its Graphics For The Better

by Damian Seeto

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 received a lot of backlash over its PS2-like visuals. Activision listened to the feedback and now the graphics have changed.

Activision released some new screenshots for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 and the graphics are now cel-shaded. It looks slightly better as a bright cartoon than the dull PS2 look it had before.

It’s quite surprising how Robomodo Games and Disruptive Games have managed to change the graphics of the game so fast. The game still had the PS2-like graphics just two months ago at E3 2015.

The game is still scheduled to come out on PS4 and Xbox One from September 29th, 2015. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are coming out on November 10th, 2015.

Hopefully the cel-shaded graphics are a sign the gameplay is great too. It’s been a very long time since we’ve received a proper Tony Hawk game. The last release was the HD remake which featured levels from the first two games.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is taking the series back to its roots. The controls have stayed the same and some of the classic levels will be making a return as well.
