Trump Calls Cover Photo ‘The Worst of All Time’ Amid Historic Hostage Release

Trump criticized a magazine cover following a major international development.

President Donald Trump publicly complained about Time magazine’s cover photo of him, which showed him celebrating the recent peace agreement for Gaza. He made these comments in a late-night message posted on his social media platform, Truth Social. In his post, he pointed out specific parts of the image that he felt were unattractive and made him look bad.

The cover uses a photograph taken from a low angle, looking up at Trump. This picture was meant to go with a story that speaks positively about his involvement in securing the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners. However, Trump concentrated on how the picture showed his hair and the details of his face. He stated, “Time Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time.” He also wrote, “‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird!”

As per TMZ, the cover story describes the peace deal as something that could be remembered as one of the most important successes of Trump’s second term as president. The story also suggests the agreement could represent a major, strategic change for the Middle East.

Image Criticism Is A Recurring Theme For Trump

This argument about the cover picture is happening at the same time that Israel and Hamas are putting their new peace plan into action. Hamas let go the last of the Israeli hostages it was holding, and in return, Israel freed Palestinian prisoners as part of the deal. People who watch the region have said this exchange is an important step in continued attempts to lower hostilities there.

Time magazine posted the cover on the social media platform X, stressing that the story was about the diplomatic success and not about the image. The cover had the words “His Triumph” as a headline and described the possible effects of the peace agreement. The magazine has not made any public statement answering Trump’s complaints about the photograph.

This is not the first occasion where Trump has publicly complained about pictures or artistic representations of himself. Back in March, he expressed disapproval of a painting of himself that was hanging in Colorado’s state capitol building, and asking for it to be taken down. He has also made remarks about popular online photos from his first term as president, finding fault with the lighting, his hair, and how the photos were edited. In 2017, Trump criticized the cover of a book called Unprecedented, calling it the “worst cover photo” of him that he had seen.
