Ubisoft is expecting huge things with Rainbow Six Siege as they are predicting it will become their best selling shooter.

During Ubisoft’s investor’s call, the company said they anticipate Rainbow Six Siege to sell more copies than last year’s Far Cry 4. Far Cry 4 sold over 7 million copies since launch. The publisher is havig really high hopes for its upcoming shooter.

Ubisoft has to be careful with Rainbow Six Siege’s release date this year. A lot of shooters will be out at the end of the year. We have Halo 5: Guardians out in late October, plus Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Star Wars Battlefront in November.

It was rumored Rainbow Six Siege will be out in mid-October to try and avoid the other big hitters. Far Cry 4 was out in November, although there was no Star Wars Battlefront that year.

Ubisoft expecting Rainbow Six Siege to sell over 7 million copies is a bit ambitious. EA expects Star Wars Battlefront to sell between 9-10 million copies and that’s a Star Wars game. Is the Rainbow Six franchise popular enough to beat Far Cry 4?

Rainbow Six Siege will be out for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms. It will be interesting to see how popular it will be. Although selling over 7 million copies seems like an ambitious task.
