The Unreal Engine 4 will debut at next week’s Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, according to Epic Games.  The company has said that it will be showing, in private, the new technology to prospective customers, partners, and licensees.  Those that do see the upcoming game development technology will be bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement, meaning that they won’t be able to say much about the engine.

Mark Rein of Epic recently explained that the Unreal Engine 4 was running on undisclosed systems at this point, which could mean that next generation consoles will be making use of the technology.  Will they be being shown behind closed doors at the event?  That answer is probably yes, but we won’t know for sure until they are announced.

Last year, Epic unveiled the mind-blowing Samaritan demo, which Epic boasted as their vision of the next generation of gaming.  The Game Developers Conference is set to run from March 5th to 9th in San Francisco, and we can only hope that someone will break this NDA to get more information about it, and possible next generation details.
