Telltale Game’s The Walking Dead series surprised us all a few years ago by not only being as good as it was, but by winning many Game of the Year awards as well. Even though we got the Michonne mini-series earlier this year, we’ve really been dying for the game’s third season ever since the second wrapped up two years ago and now we know when it’s returning, this time with a new subtitle.

During a panel at PAX West, Telltale Games revealed a number of new details about the upcoming third season of The Walking Dead. First of all, they announced that this new season would not be simply known as The Walking Dead Season 3, but rather The Walking Dead: A New Frontier.

In addition, they revealed that A New Frontier would be making its debut sometime this November as either a digital download or as a “Season Pass Disc” that comes with Episode 1 on it and will allow you to download the others as they release.

The panel gave us a few details about the plot we can expect as well, including a little about the playable male protagonist that is in the game alongside Clementine. Javier is described as “a man struggling to keep his family together in the new world.”

Kevin Boyle, executive producer for the series also gave a little glimpse into the premise of this upcoming season and what makes it different from the previous ones during the panel.

“When we began this series, we explored what it meant to protect a character like Clementine at all costs. Years later, meeting her for the first time, Javier will begin to unravel the mystery of who Clementine has become, as her story intersects with his – both of them still driven by the things they value most long after society’s collapse.”

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier will be premiering sometime this November, so make sure to stay tuned for any details on a more exact release date. However, Telltale Games is pretty good about releasing things at the last minute with little warning, so an exact date may not come until November.
