The adapter with one controller bundle is back in stock on Gamestop’s website for the regular price of $49.98. This is still more than just the adapter by itself, but unless you have four Gamecube controllers lying around your house, it’s probably your best bet to grab this ultra rare device. It seems like restocks have slowed down as of late, with a few hitting in the past month or so before slowing to a crawl once again. Of course these were all snatched up extremely fast, leaving many fans still waiting to buy their coveted Wii U Gamecube Adapter.
Gamestop has sort of become infamous for these types of bundles, where they take a rare item and throw in a bunch of things you might not want. This helps increase the money they make off the purchase, since gamers were going to buy the adapter anyway, and now they get a controller as well. To be fair though, this is certainly not the most egregious bundle that we’ve seen from them. Most likely, people who still need the Wii U Gamecube Adapter will want an extra controller to go with it at some point, so why not now.
