While some may have been looking forward to the already gorgeous The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt getting enhanced thanks to the improved hardware of the PlayStation 4 Pro, the developer has revealed that the game will not be updated for the upcoming console.

The reason for them skipping adding PS4 Pro support to the game has to do with them preferring to focus on some of their other projects. They said the following:

“Since we want to fully focus on Cyberpunk 2077 and Gwent, and converting The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from a full HD game into a 4K one would be too much of a time and resource-consuming process, we decided not to release an edition of Wild Hunt supporting the new features of PlayStation Pro.”

However, despite the lack of PS4 Pro support for the game, there’s still the possibility that the game would have an improved framerate when running on Sony’s upcoming console. More information on game framerates will be coming closer to the console’s launch, though, so it remains speculation for now.

PlayStation 4 Pro will launch on November 10th and cost $399. CD Projekt RED’s Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is set to launch later this year, though Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a release date.
