Microsoft’s Xbox Press Conference at E3 2017 is just days away. Â Sunday June 11th we know that we’re finally going to hear more about Scorpio, hopefully both a price and release date will be revealed but what’s unknown is what Microsoft has up their sleeves in terms of games to show.
When asked about it via Twitter, Spencer had this to say about the upcoming press conference, “For me this is one of our most interesting shows in a long time. Â I’m impressed with breadth and quality that will be shown.”
Unfortunately, Spencer hasn’t offered any further teases about what to expect from Microsoft at E3 2017 in terms of said games. Â Some of the most widely anticpated are basically re-reveales of things that we already know about. Â Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, and State of Decay 2 are known quantities. Â Microsoft’s heavy-hitter first party titles like Halo and Gears of War aren’t looking likely for the show, although 343 did say they’d have something Halo-related there.
What could potentially end up happening here is that Microsoft continues to secure third party timed or untimed exclusives that we just haven’t heard about yet. Â The theme that’s also been coming out of the Microsoft camp in the weeks leading up to E3 has been that of one where the Scorpio is described as “The best place to play games,” Â meaning that first party or third games played on console won’t see better fidelity or performance than on Xbox Scorpio. Â In that regard, Microsoft could hitch their wagon to the star of a big release for the fall, but that’s just a guess at this point.
We’ll know more soon enough. Â It’s not like the head of Xbox at Microsoft can be anything but positive about the upcoming press event.
