Xbox Head Phil Spencer Thinks New Nintendo President Kimishima Will Do Great

Nintendo suffered a huge loss back in July with the sudden passing of president Satoru Iwata. Since his passing, there have been many discussions about who would take on that role moving forward, and with that just being answered this week, a rival has weighed in on how he think the new president will do at Nintendo.

Nintendo named former Nintendo of America president Tatsumi Kimishima as president of Nintendo as a whole, which definitely seems like a good fit. Naturally, other big names in the industry would be asked about this move and one has taken the time to respond.

Xbox head Phil Spencer has been one of the best things for Xbox in a long time and he’s very good at keeping up with the community through his Twitter account. When asked about what he thinks of the new Nintendo president, he had the following to say.

“I don’t know him but Nintendo is great gaming with amazing track record, I’m sure he’ll do great, I wish him well.”

Phil Spencer is always a class act and continues to show that here. Spencer didn’t have to answer this, but went out of his way to wish Kimishima well, who is moving into this new position.

It’s going to be awhile before we truly know how successful Kimishima will be as president of Nintendo, but his early decisions certainly will play a big part in that, especially with the NX coming. Others in the industry seem to share the same sentiment as Spencer, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
