It’s the middle of the month, which means it is time for Microsoft to switch around their Xbox Live Games with Gold offerings. Borderlands is out, Lords of the Fallen and Supreme Commander are in. This was all well known thanks to the usual early release of info though. However, along with reminding Xbox One owners to get in and grab their games, Microsoft issued a tease for next month, and it seems like they are setting the bar pretty high for themselves.
Speaking of the Xbox Live Games with Gold for April 2016, Microsoft said “Next up: April blockbusters.” What this could mean is anyone’s guess at the moment, but it seems like they are hinting at big, AAA titles being offered for free to Xbox Live subscribers. This, of course, is every fans’ dream, as getting free games is good, but getting big, newer games for free is really great.
In the past, both Sony’s PS Plus Instant Game Collection and Microsoft’s Xbox Live Games with Gold programs have given away major AAA titles. However, PS Plus has sort of held the edge in this department, which we have noted in our now monthly versus articles. Microsoft just seems to give players more older games, and smaller, indie titles. If April sees a shift to “blockbusters” then it will surely please fans, and get the competition with PS Plus heated up.
Usually we hear about the upcoming Xbox Live Games with Gold games a few days away from the end of the month, so expect to find out what is in store in a couple of weeks.
