Update:Â Things should be getting back to normal as of 4pm Eastern Time.
Xbox Live is currently down for many with the Xbox Core Services being reported as having limited functionality. The specific features that are having trouble include signing into Xbox Live, as well as anything to do with managing your account. The problem seems to be isolated to the Xbox One at the moment, though these types of problems have a tendancy to spread, especially if things need to be shut down to implement a fix.
Microsoft has already stated that they are well aware of the current Xbox Live outage, with engineers looking into the root cause of the problem. “Our engineers and developers are actively continuing to work to resolve the issue causing some members to have problems signing in to Xbox Live. Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience,” reads the Xbox Live status page.
This is the first Xbox Live outage in quite a while, with the service having stabilized quite a bit since its very rough patch of time over a year ago. Hopefully it isn’t a sign of more trouble to come, and it can be sorted out quickly and efficiently by Microsoft.
We’ll keep this page updated, so check back later on if you’re still having trouble signing into Xbox Live on your Xbox One.
