It’s the start of another new week, so it seems like a great time for Xbox Live to go down once again. Currently Microsoft is reporting that Xbox Live Status is “limited” with sign in issues impacting both major platforms.
Gamers on Xbox One and Xbox 360 are reporting trouble just getting logged into Xbox Live, with the official Twitter response saying “Our teams are looking into the issues with signing into Xbox Live. Stay tuned for more updates to come.”
The Xbox Live Status page reports the problem as “Are you having connectivity issues with Xbox Live? Our team is already investigating and we hope to have everything back to normal ASAP. Thanks for your patience while we work. We’ll update you again as soon as we have more information.” This is as of 3:50pm Eastern Time.
Xbox Live has went down multiple times over the last few weeks, though the impact and length of the outages has varied significantly. So far this one seems bigger than others, though it has only just gotten started. Perhaps Microsoft can get it worked out quickly, allowing players to get back onto Xbox Live soon.
So far, PSN has been much more stable than Xbox Live for 2016, though things can change rapidly with these two services. Keep checking back for updates as this outages develops.
UPDATE:Â As of 4:15pm the issue is still going on. Aside from assurances that people are working on it, there has been no official update from Microsoft. We are still monitoring the situation to see if anything can be done to get around the current sign in problems. Keep checking back for updates later on.
UPDATE 2:Â As of 6pm the issues seem to be resolved.
