The Xbox One could outlast the Xbox 360, and by a long shot, according to Rare’s Danny Issac.  Upon missing the Xbox One launch window with Kinect Sports Rivals, Issac believes that there will be a lack of opportunities to launch alongside a new console going forward.

This console may last 12 years

“There’s very few opportunities to be there day one,  and there’s going to be even fewer going forward,” said Issac.  “This console may last 12 years,” he continued in an interview with Video Gamer.

A twelve year cycle for the Xbox One would be lengthy by any standards, but Issac’s sentiment don’t echo with all in the industry.   Ubisoft’s CEO believes that the Xbox One and PS4 life cycles could be shorter than the previous generation, and last only five years.

What say you?  Do you think that consoles should have a shorter life cycle as Guillemot predicts?  Longer, as Issac says?  Or was the Xbox 360/PS3 generation just right for you?  Let us know in the comments section.
