Xbox is Top Console for Porn Viewing According to Pornhub

Comparing the three major current-gen consoles is sort of a hobby for most gamers. We want to know which system has sold better, which is more powerful, which has more and better exclusive games. One thing that we didn’t try to compare before is which console is used for porn viewing more. Thankfully this research has been done for us and we have the answer: the Xbox. The research was done by popular site Pornhub in their “2014 Year in Review” article. In the piece they presented and compared tons of stats about their traffic, such as search terms, browser types, etc. The one stat that interests us the most is which gaming consoles were used to visit their site.

Playstation and Xbox are the undeniable heavy hitters here, claiming 40% and 45.7% of traffic respectively

The stats are pretty interesting, especially when compared with last year’s. Xbox came out on top with 45.7% of all traffic to Pornhub from a gaming system. PlayStation came in a close second with 40%, with Wii taking up the third spot with just 8.2%. Handheld systems were also counted with the Vita counting for 5% and the Nintendo 3DS finishing last with 1.1%. Unfortunately the site doesn’t break these down into which Xbox and which PlayStation systems were used, simply lumping them together into one stat.

The really interesting part is seeing how the rankings ended up this way. When comparing traffic to last year Pornhub saw major increases from Xbox systems, while PlayStation dropped significantly. PlayStation saw a drop in their share of the traffic of 36.8% while Xbox jumped by 70.5%. Wii also increaed greatly, having their share jump by 69.6%.

This doesn’t really say all that much about gaming in general, but it is always interesting to compare and figure out why certain patterns emerge. To check out these and all of the other stats offered by Pornhub’s 2014 Year in Review click here.
