Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had a decent entry in the Japanese sales charts, according to Media Create. The RPG managed to enter the software list at number 2 below Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon, with sales slightly above the previous game, Xenoblade Chronicles X for Wii U. While the series has not benefited much from the powerful momentum of Nintendo’s new console, it is obviously capable of attract a healthy volume of sales. Also this Japanese debut is much better than the mediocre reception of the game in the United Kingdom earlier this week, where the game debuted at number 19.

Other titles to debut inside the top 10 this week were Kirby Battle Royale for 3DS and Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with the former attracting most of the sales. Sadly, there were a few other new releases this week that failed to make a strong impression in the charts, all of them debuting with less than 10.000 sales. They are Attack on Titan 2: Future Coordinates for 3DS, Little Witch Academia for PS4, and the Resident Evil Revelations Collection for Nintendo Switch.

As for hardware sales, Nintendo Switch easily kept the top position with slightly lower numbers than last week, but still rather huge compared to the rest of platforms. 3DS and PS4 follow with sizeable increases thanks to the proximity of Christmas, a situation that is expected to continue for the next few weeks.
