Joe Rogan admits he ‘can’t wind down’ from the news chaos, prompting social media to destroy him for the one reason he refuses to acknowledge

Reap what you sow.

Joe Rogan is feeling pretty overwhelmed by the constant stream of news lately, and his recent comments have definitely stirred up a storm among social media users. It’s sparked a lot of conversation, and not all of it has been sympathetic, especially considering some of his past statements. On a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan sat down with fellow comedian and host Matt McCusker, and the conversation quickly turned to current events, as reported by Unilad.

They discussed everything from new products allegedly containing cancer-causing chemicals to other troubling headlines. Rogan admitted that all this negative news is making it tough for him to wind down at night. He mentioned he’s been reading “too much of the news” and it’s just “overwhelming” him. He specifically pointed out that he “can’t wind down” sometimes because “there’s too much news.”

“There’s too much f—ing madness,” he stated, expressing concern over potential conflicts, like the possibility of going to war with Iran. He also brought up the mysterious nature of some of the recently released files, asking, “What are these files? How far does this go? How come this never got released before? Like, what is happening?” He even jokingly wondered aloud, “What the f— is pizza?” in reference to concerns about everyday foods.

While many people can probably relate to feeling swamped by the news cycle, Rogan’s comments have faced significant backlash

There’s a particular reason for this, and it ties directly into his public endorsements. Back in 2024, Rogan publicly endorsed President Trump. This happened after an episode of his podcast where he interviewed Elon Musk. Rogan wrote on X, “The great and powerful @elonmusk. If it wasn’t for him we’d be f—ed. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.” He even clarified, “For the record, yes, that’s an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast.”

Now, here’s where the irony really kicks in for many social media users. President Trump is a pretty central figure in the country’s upcoming nuclear talks with Iran, which Rogan expressed concern about. Plus, President Trump’s name has reportedly appeared thousands of times in the recently released Epstein files, another topic that Rogan found unsettling.

Naturally, X users were quick to call out what they saw as hypocrisy. One user directly quoted Rogan’s lament, then added, “Joe Rogan, who endorsed Trump in 2024: It’s overwhelming me. Sometimes at night time I can’t wind down. There’s too much news. It’s too much f—ing madness. We’re about to go to war with Iran. How far does it go? What’s happening?”

Another X user didn’t hold back, writing, “@joerogan Suck it up. This is what you endorsed, & voted for. You helped get this monster & his minions elected. Actions have consequences. Cry about it to someone who gives a s—. In the meantime, grow some & disavow him publicly, use your money & platform to make a change.” A third person simply questioned, “Is it too much news or the realization that he helped create all of this and got played?”
