Marjorie Taylor Greene blasts both sides of the political aisle, calls voting either ‘the worst ROI for the American people’

She has a point.

The political landscape in Washington D.C. is feeling particularly volatile right now, and former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is making it clear that she is finished with both major parties. In a post shared on X, Greene expressed deep frustration with the current state of governance, arguing that the nation remains stuck on the same unproductive path regardless of which party holds the reins of power, Fox News reported.

Greene did not hold back in her assessment of the current political environment. “Nothing ever changes in Washington. No matter which party is in charge. You still get a bigger debt. You still get foreign wars and you pay for them. Your cost of living still increases and the value of the dollar continues to shrink,” she wrote.

Her conclusion was even more pointed, as she added, “Voting for both Democrats and Republicans is the worst ROI for the American people.” This perspective surfaces right as the 2026 midterm election cycle begins to heat up, a period that will ultimately decide which party maintains control of the House and Senate.

The reaction from the administration was swift and harsh

In a comment provided to Fox News Digital on April 22, White House spokesman Davis Ingle did not mince words regarding the former congresswoman. “Marjorie Taylor Greene is a quitter who is pathetically trying to stay relevant by going on liberal media shows to bash President Trump. Unfortunately, Trump Derangement Syndrome has rotted former Congresswoman Greene’s peanut-sized brain,” Ingle declared.

This tension between the two has been building for a while, reaching a boiling point earlier in April. On April 7, the president posted on Truth Social, threatening that regarding Iran, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” That same day, Greene responded on X, writing “25th AMENDMENT!!!” as she argued that the rhetoric was dangerous. While the president ultimately announced a ceasefire and did not follow through on his specific threat against Iran, the damage to their relationship was already done.

The president did not stay quiet about his former ally. Following the victory of Trump-backed candidate Clay Fuller in the April 7 special election runoff to fill the seat Greene vacated, the president took to Truth Social on April 8 to celebrate the result. He did not pass up the opportunity to criticize his former supporter.

“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown’s (GREEN TURNS TO BROWN UNDER STRESS!) seat in Congress has been taken over by a wonderful and talented man, Clay Fuller, who won convincingly, and right from the beginning, despite many people running for that ‘TRUMP’ +37 seat, and despite the stench left by Greene. Congratulations to Clay Fuller, a very large improvement over his deranged predecessor!” the president wrote.

The animosity between Greene and the White House has been brewing for some time. Back on April 7, Greene had shared a screenshot of an earlier Truth Social post where the president had warned that Iran’s “civilization will die tonight.” At the time, she wrote, “25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness.” The president’s own rhetoric in that post had been quite intense, claiming that “47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end.”

Greene is not the only one who has expressed alarm over the president’s recent statements. Several Democratic lawmakers have also pushed for his removal from office. Rep. Ilhan Omar, for instance, called the situation “Sickeningly evil” and suggested on X that the president must be impeached.

Rep. Mark Pocan also took to X, stating, “25th Amendment RIGHT NOW! Trump is too unhinged, dangerous, and deranged to have the nuclear codes!” Additionally, Rep. Shri Thanedar, who previously introduced impeachment articles, argued that the president’s threats made him unfit for office.

The intensity of this discourse illustrates just how polarized things have become. Greene, who once stood as a fierce ally to the president, has transitioned into a vociferous critic. Even as far back as Easter Sunday, Greene posted on X that the president had “gone insane.”

She further stated, “Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit. This is not making America great again, this is evil.”
