Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia openly criticized President Trump after his meetings with foreign leaders. She asked Trump to focus only on American issues instead of getting involved in conflicts overseas. Her comment came as Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and prepared to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump has been deeply involved in the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas conflict since he returned to the White House. On Sunday, he met with Zelenskyy at Mar-a-Lago to talk about a peace plan to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. The war started when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
According to Fox News, Netanyahu arrived in Florida on Sunday for a meeting scheduled for Monday at Trump’s estate. The two leaders plan to discuss Israel’s conflicts in the Middle East. This will be their sixth meeting this year.
Greene wants the administration to prioritize domestic needs over foreign wars
Greene responded to Trump’s meetings by posting on X. “Zelensky today. Netanyahu tomorrow,” she wrote. “Can we just do America?” Her message made it clear that she thinks the Trump administration should focus on problems at home instead of foreign conflicts.
The congresswoman has always opposed sending U.S. military aid to other countries during the wars in Europe and the Middle East. She has called Zelenskyy “a dictator who canceled elections” in the past.
She has also described Israel’s military actions in Gaza as a genocide and humanitarian crisis. Trump’s focus on domestic policy has been a central theme, as he recently pushed for uniform AI regulations across states to maintain America’s technological leadership.
Greene’s criticism comes after months of tension between her and Trump. The two had a public fight recently when Trump got upset about Greene pushing to release documents about Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was a sex predator who died while in custody. The friction between Trump officials and critics has been evident in other recent incidents, including when a protester confronted an official at a restaurant.
Trump eventually withdrew his support for Greene and went as far as calling her a “traitor” during their public feud. The sharp exchange marked a dramatic breakdown in what had once been a supportive political relationship. Greene is now expected to resign from the House in January, bringing her time in Congress to an end amid the ongoing controversy.
Their relationship remains strained, and Greene’s recent remarks only reinforce how deep the divide has become.
