President Donald Trump kept attacking GOP Rep. Thomas Massie from Kentucky on Monday. He posted on Truth Social to push Massie out of office and support his challenger Ed Gallrein, a former Navy SEAL Trump backed last year.
Trump called Massie “the Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman we have had in many years.” He said Gallrein filed his papers to run for Congress on Monday. He wrote that other candidates might join the race for this seat. But he asked all MAGA supporters to back Captain Ed Gallrein. Trump said Gallrein is the best choice to beat Massie.
“I have heard that there are other Candidates exploring a run for this seat, but I am asking all MAGA Warriors to rally behind Captain Ed Gallrein, the Candidate who is, far and away, best positioned to DEFEAT Third Rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a Weak and Pathetic RINO from the beautiful Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place I love, and won BIG, ALL THREE TIMES,” Trump wrote, according to Fox News.
Massie criticized Trump’s Venezuela move and faced immediate backlash
Massie has spoken out against Trump’s decision to remove Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro from power. He posted on X saying, “Wake up MAGA. VENEZUELA is not about drugs; it’s about OIL and REGIME CHANGE. This is not what we voted for.”
Trump pointed out in his post that Gallrein supports the recent attack on Maduro, calling him a dictator. The president said Massie only votes against the Republican Party, making things easier for the far left. However, Trump’s Venezuela operation drew warnings from Beijing about international interference.
Trump also called Massie a “hater of Israel” and a “totally ineffective LOSER” who has failed badly. He said Gallrein is a winner who will not disappoint Kentucky. Massie used Trump’s attack to ask for campaign money. He posted on X asking why he gets attacked every week. He said it’s because he’s the only Republican who won’t approve foreign aid, endless spending, and unnecessary wars.
“It happened again today! Why do I get attacked weekly? Because I’m the only Republican who refuses to rubber stamp foreign aid, endless deficits, and unnecessary wars. I’m also exposing sex traffickers. My primary is in May. Please help if you can,” he wrote.
The military operation has already resulted in casualties, as the first death count from Venezuela emerged following the U.S. intervention. Massie added that he’s also exposing sex traffickers. His primary election is in May, and he asked people to donate to his campaign if they can.
