President Donald Trump recently reshared a controversial message on Truth Social, directly labeling former First Lady Michelle Obama an “anti-White racist.” This move has definitely cranked up the heat on the president’s social media antics, especially since it follows another highly criticized racist post just a couple of weeks ago. It’s clear that Trump isn’t shying away from direct attacks on figures connected to the Obama administration.
According to Reality Tea, the message Trump amplified on Truth Social originally came from far-right activist Laura Loomer. Her initial post took aim at Netflix’s reported attempt to acquire Warner Bros., urging Trump to block the merger. Loomer raised concerns that the Obamas’ production company, Higher Ground Productions, which already creates content for Netflix, would gain too much influence across both companies if the deal went through.
Loomer’s post explicitly stated, “Making this more horrifying is the fact that if the Netflix-Warner Bros. merger is approved, positive messaging of the Democrats’ upcoming witch hunts against Trump from Barack Hussein Obama… and his anti-White racist wife Michelle… would likely be blasted across all streaming services as the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions continues to grow within Netflix.”
Not just Michelle, Trump also trained his guns on Susan Rice
Not content with just resharing Loomer’s message, Trump added his own thoughts, pivoting to target another prominent Black woman from the Obama era: former National Security Adviser Susan Rice. Rice currently sits on Netflix’s executive board. In his accompanying caption, Trump wrote, “Netflix should fire racist, Trump Deranged Susan Rice, IMMEDIATELY, or pay the consequences.”
This latest inflammatory post isn’t an isolated incident, either. It’s coming hot on the heels of a similar controversy that erupted just two weeks prior. A video appeared on President Trump’s Truth Social account that depicted the faces of Barack Obama and his wife superimposed onto the bodies of apes while the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” played in the background. The video sparked a pretty swift and strong bipartisan backlash.
After all the criticism, the clip quickly vanished from Trump’s page. The president even refused to apologize for the post. The White House later tried to distance the president from the post, attributing it to an unnamed staffer who supposedly shared it on his behalf.
