A Starbucks barista tried to be flirty with a secret message, then the customer’s TikTok reaction went viral for all the wrong reasons

Did he really?

There has been a trend of baristas writing sweet messages on coffee cups for their customers. But recently, a similar attempt with a Starbucks coffee cup backfired when a social media influencer was offended by a message a barista wrote on their cup. One can wait a lot and still don’t get the viral teddy bear cup at Starbucks, but this TikToker got a sweet message, which she found so odd that she might never return to her local branch.

As per Unilad, Ari Chance posted a video on her TikTok account, calling out the Barista, who, following the instructions written on the cup, made a flirty comment about her that she was not okay with. He apparently sculpted a secret message on one side of the cup, and then, with some instructions missing, the text read as if it were calling the customer ‘extremely hot.’ Chance, on the other hand, became furious with this gesture.

Ari Chance, on her TikTok account, posted a video sharing the details of the encounter, saying that the barista seemingly made an odd remark to her: ‘Careful, you’re extremely hot.’ She, in the response, reacted harshly to the encounter, saying, “What just happened at Starbucks? Never going back there.” Ari was clearly not okay with the supposedly sweet gesture, but people in her comment section expressed some disagreement.

While Ari Chance was offended by the gesture, social media users had mixed opinions

In her comments, people showed their support for the barista for his effort to share his view of her instantly before she disappeared. One of the viewers declared that it was a great attempt to attract someone. Some even commented that women often complain that men do not try to win their hearts, and when they do, they end up criticizing them.

Ari claimed the barista did it, but some viewers thought she might have done it herself to make up the story. One of them was quick to comment that it seemed odd for her to wait until she got into her car, and question whether this was preplanned by the influencer. But Starbucks, who were forced to cough up $35 million before, hasn’t issued any statement regarding action against the barista.

This incident has sparked debate over the validity of the action as it could be considered a violation of personal space. Even though the message was sweet, it could have serious repercussions if she had filed a complaint against the barista. However, there’s a chance it was just another Starbucks gesture, which isn’t what it looks like.
